King Goodwill Zwelithini’s mobile network promises to be cheaper

AmaZulu King Goodwill Zwelithini has launched a mobile network.

Bayede Mobile promises to be cheaper.

According to the Bayede Mobile website, data rates will be on par or cheaper than other network providers.

“As a new black-owned mobile network for the people of the Zulu Kingdom, KwaZulu-Natal and greater South Africa, it is the vision of Bayede Mobile to enable more communities to connect with ease, and at cheaper rates,” said a statement on the website.

“It is our mission to leverage existing and new partnerships with both local and international stakeholders with the sole purpose of enabling stronger and cheaper connectivity in rural areas.”

The mobile network is in partnership with controversial businessman Roux Shabangu and Jane Nkadimang of JB Holdings.

Here’s what the data rates will be:


10 MB – R5

25 MB – R8

50 MB – R15

100 MB -R27

200 MB – R47

250 MB – R59

1G – R145

2G – R245
