South Africa hit by a 4.3 Magnitude earthquake

South Africa hit by a 4.3 magnitude earthquake. Some citizens in Durban, South Africa were left a bit shaken after the city experienced a minor earthquake today. According to the United States Geological Survey, the “non-earthquake incident” happened just after 13:20, and measured 4.3 magnitudes.

The Council of Geoscience’s Mahlatse Mononela told News24, “However, we are still gathering information and will revert back with details.”

The tremor is believed to have occurred following an earthquake in the south Philippines that was measured at a 6.5 magnitude on the Richter scale. Here is how some South Africans reacted to the event,

People in Durban are only talking about the #durbantremor yezwa. One aunty just told me it was an earthquake that lasted for a minute. Who am I to say it was a tremor that lasted less than 20 seconds.
