ANC NEC shifts focus on economy

It’s day three of the African National Congress National Executive Committee meeting taking place in Boksburg.

Sunday’s meeting is expected to kick off with discussions around the economy.

Finance Minister Tito Mboweni’s recovery plan is expected to top the agenda.

The document has already caused tensions with some of the party’s alliance partners.

The discussion also takes place amid major economic challenges for the country, with thousands in the mining and banking sector facing possible retrenchments.
